“The Six Attitudes of High Achievers”
High Achievers…..
1. Make no small plans
Did you make a plan today? A plan
to eat lunch with friends, or a emergency plan for tomorrow, or even a plan for
the future? But is it a small plan…or is it a big plan? This can refer to an
important plan or not or is it a good plan or not? There are so many ways that
you can describe a plan but will you be willing to complete them?
“Make no little plans…make big plans, aim high in hope and work.” - Daniel H. Burnham
2. Do what they fear
What
is fear to you? There are many fears one can have and can face but not everyone has the same fear. But when it come to achieving something...one can be that fear. It can be a good type of fear or a bad type of fear...it just depends on how your going to put it. You can be a good type of fear which includes you being on the top, being an overall top student or being the top worker at you job which causes the people around you to be like "Wow! They do that much!". If thats no a side you have chosen then it must of been the bad type of fear which doesn't awlways include you.
“ People fear what they don’t understand
and hate what they cannot conquer. ” - Rashida Rowe
3. Are willing to prepare
In life we learn to always be prepared…whether
it’s for an emergency or a test or an event coming up…we always plan and prepare
for it. In some occasions it hard to prepare and in others it’s not but we all
get a final result after it. Take an emergency for example, if you’re prepared
for it then nothing will go wrong but if you’re not prepared…well…everything
goes wrong and your life is possibly at stake. Maybe a test is coming up and
you have to prepare for it so you can get a good score…you can either study to
be prepared and get a passing grade or don’t study at all which leads to you getting
a bad score which affects your grade and prevents you from passing the class.
One of the most important preparations in life is life itself. Preparing yourself to what’s coming to you and
preparing you for the real world which includes everything around you. Take
school, elementary prepares you for middle school, middle school prepares you
for high school, and high school prepares you for college and the real would
you’re going to face. Take your parents, they prepare you for the way you’re
going to live and how they won’t always be by your side and how you are going
to teach your family how it will be. It’s all a cycle where preparation is one
of the keys to life and it’s something you’re going to do every day!
“Everything you are going thru, is
preparing you for what you are asked for” -Anonymous
4. Are willing to risk failure
In life there with be many obstacles and with those
obstacles comes achieving and failing. When we achieve something we feel good
about it…it gives us this positive vibe but what about failure…? Failure can
leave us with negative vibes and with that it can bring us down but…it can also
help us learn. Helps us understand that yes we failed but what can I do to make
it better next time and succeed. Are you willing to take the chance to do that
or are you going to give up and let that failure get the best of you…? In my
opinion I rather learn and achieve next time or maybe even improve if it’s not
possible. There are some people who don’t believe in failure because they “never”
experienced it before or aren’t willing to accept it...but do you think they
are ready for the failure that will soon enough catch up to them? Let’s take
slavery as an example. Didn’t blacks risk their lives to get theirs rights?
Didn’t they have to wait so many years to just achieve one thing? Did they
succeed at first?…NO…of course not because they were inferior to whites…but did
that stop them?! They failed and failed but they never gave up and in the end
after sweat, tears, pain, and suffering they went through…THEY FINALLY ACHIEVED
WHAT THEY WANTED!!! This teaches us that if we fail or take a risk to failure…we
will succeed no matter what. It might take time but you’ll get there very soon! :)
“Without exposure
to potential failure, there is no risk.” –Brennan Manning
5. Are teachable
Being teachable includes many roles in our society.
“If
you want to succeed in your career, business, marriage, parenting or life, you
have to be teachable!” –Anonymous
6. Have heart
We all have a heart that pumps blood and oxygen to our body but there is
a meaning to having a heart which in this case not literal. It’s more like have
heart in something…have meaning in something. Like having heart to something
you like, for example drawing, playing an instrument or having passion for
something. There’s also having heart on others like helping. You see someone
carrying a lot of groceries by themselves so you go and help them, that’s
having heart toward others.
“When you have a good heart: you help, you trust, you give, you
love, and always do good!” –Anonymous
Final Reflection:
Write an overall final reflection in this post regarding
the 6 Attitudes of High Achievers. Include your deepest thoughts and feelings.
Write what you commit to do about the 6 Attitudes to make yourself a better person
and become a HIGH ACHIEVER.
The 6 attitudes was
something nice to write about and very inspirational. We were able to see that we should never start with small plans because it won't give us enough toi do...we need bigger paln which will last longer. We learned about what makes other people fear in a good way like over achieving, working your best to be on top and showing other that,"Wow...they did all that!" There was also willing to prepare which involves everything even the most unexpected things. Then there came willing to risk for failure which include the you not being perfect which involves you failing something but you learn from that. Teachable was another where eveyone or anything can teach and learn from that and can help you grow in mind. The final was having heart...which in my opinion wins all, where having heart counts and gets you anywhere! So follow the 6 attitudes in your way and find the most important to you to get you anywhere!
